Michelle Obama Gets Speaking Role, Keynote Speaker Revealed

Michelle Obama and San Antonio mayor Julián Castro will be speaking at the Democratic National Convention, organizers announced. Mayor Julián Castro will be the keynote speaker and is the first Latino to do the speech. First Lady Michelle Obama will be speaking on the first night, Mayor Julián Castro will be as well. The keynote addresses usually done by a rising star in the Democratic Party, then-Senate candidate, and former governor, Mark Warner of Virginia did the keynote in 2008. In 2004, state Senator Barack Obama delivered the address, launching into national prominence.
