Political Jungle for August 17, 2012

Hello and welcome to Political Jungle.

Now, we begin with Rep. Paul Ryan, who has today released his 2010 and 2011 tax returns. He has paid a higher percentage than Mitt Romney. Rep. Paul Ryan said he would only release two years of tax returns, similar to Mitt Romney.

The Obama campaign manager Jim Messina has offered a truce to the Romney campaign, sending a letter to Romney campaign manager Matt Rhoades. They said that Mitt Romney released five years of tax returns, 2007 to 2011. They would not ask for anymore. They did not promise to not criticize what was in those documents. Mitt Romney has stated he has not paid less than 13% in taxes over the past ten years.

Finally, the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania has appealed a judge’s controversial ruling that upheld Pennsylvania likewise controversial voter ID law. Many groups have fought the law because they say the law is designed to hurt likely Democratic voters. Republicans say the law will crack down on voter fraud.

Well, no Through the Looking Glass tonight, we hope to be doing videos soon. Until next time, thank you.
