Hello and welcome to the Daily Briefing for August 21, 2012. Now today our top stories are:
Todd Akin vows to stay in the race.
The NRSC will not give any money to Akin.
Former Secretary Albright says Democrats should blame Bush “forever.”

Now it’s time for our Short and Sweet Stories, our top stories condensed.

Todd Akin has vowed to stay and try to beat Sen. Claire McCaskill. Many Republicans have called on Akin to drop out of his campaign. Republicans have also said Akin needs to drop out in order for the Republicans to get the Senate and repeal Obamacare.

The National Republican Senatorial Campaign has decided to not spend anymore money in Missouri as long as Rep. Akin is the candidate. Crossroads GPS, Karl Rove’s super PAC, has all decided to yank spending in the state.

Former Secretary of State Madeline Albright has joked that Democrats should blame former President Bush for the nation’s problems “forever.” Polls show that a majority of Americans still blame President Bush for the nation’s troubles.
