Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis has resigned, wanting to spend more time with her family. There had been rumors throughout the day about her possible resignation. Secretary Solis said that she came to the decision during the Christmas break, when she was with her family. The announcement comes in a week when President Obama’s Cabinet has been under the spotlight. It is also expected that the Secretary decided to resign now because of the new second term. It was not said in the announcement when the resignation would take place. Although, it appears to be either immediate or very soon. Secretary Solis is also rumored to be looking at political office in her native California.
