Attorney General Eric Holder Held Contempt

The House Oversight Committee voted today, along party lines, to hold Attorney General Eric Holder guilty of contempt. The vote was 23-17, all Republicans yes, all Democrats no. Chairman Issa has demanded more and more documents related to the Fast and Furious program. While in most cases the Administration released the documents, President Obama used executive privilege to lawfully prevent the release. This was President Obama’s first use of executive privilege. Speaker Boehner said there will be a full House vote next week. The Republicans have the votes to win.
