It has been announced that Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) will be giving the Tea Party response to President Obama’s State of the Union address. Sen. Paul, who is said to be eyeing a 2016 presidential run, was elected to the Senate with the Tea Party wave in 2010. It was announced earlier that Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) would be giving the Republican response. Sen. Rubio is also a potential presidential candidate and a Tea Party darling. Sen. Rand Paul is not the first hopeful to do the Tea Party response, Rep. Michele Bachmann did the response two years ago.
