American President Barack Obama and Cuban President Raul Castro will meet Tuesday at the United Nations. The White House announced the meeting on Sunday.
Castro spoke to the UN Sustainable Development Summit on Saturday and praised the progress of the normalization of American-Cuban relations. However, he criticized the embargo, calling it an “economic, commercial and financial blockade.”
This was Castro’s first time speaking at the United Nations. He will deliver remarks to the General Assembly on Monday.
Castro and Obama also met earlier this year at the Summit of the Americas in Panama.
