CNN New Day anchor Chris Cuomo secured an exclusive interview with Dennis Rodman and the other former NBA players who are traveling to North Korea to celebrate Kim Jong Un’s birthday. He interviewed the group live this morning on the show, and it was certainly combative. Cuomo pressed Rodman on why he was going to North Korea and whether or not the former basketball player realized the ramifications of his trip. American hostage Kenneth Bae was brought up and Rodman continued to brush it aside. However, Rodman seemed to indicate that he knew more about Bae than the communist country has announced. Bae had been charged with attempting to overthrow the government. Rodman asked Cuomo, “Do you understand what he did in this country?”
