As the Supreme Court is preparing to rule on President Obama’s signature domestic policy, what did this cost President Obama? The health care law was not easy to pass. Passing it cost President Obama quite a bit of political capital. Also, and quite evidently, it cost President Obama the House of Representatives. It almost cost President Obama the Senate. Due to the hyper partisanship, Congress has not passed much. So it can be argued the health care law cost the President the ability to argue he changed Washington. No Republicans voted for the health care law.
