In keeping with tradition, the White House welcomed Tony Stewart to the White House. This was Tony Stewart’s third championship. President Obama also thanked NASCAR for their work with Joining Forces. Joining Forces is an initiative headed by First Lady Michelle, that promotes military families. President Obama also mentioned how his NASCAR prediction was wrong.
