Notable conservative Rep. Michele Bachmann has announced she will not run for re-election next year. She announced this in a web video posted this morning. She said that her decision was not based off prospects for next year, or the investigations she’s facing for campaign finance. However, when Bachmann does leave Congress, her congressional ethics investigation must end. The move could signal trouble for Jim Graves, her 2012 contender and current candidate. Even though Graves has said opposite, most of his campaign was focused on Michele Bachmann. He cited her presidential run as evidence that she didn’t focus on the sixth district, the most conservative in Minnesota. Graves was less than 5,000 votes from beating Bachmann in 2012.
