Joe Miller Files for Senate

Joe Miller, the failed US Senate Republican nominee from Alaska, has filed papers to possibly run for the Senate again in 2014. If he were to win the Republican nomination again, he would most likely face off against Senator Mark Begich (D-AK). Back in 2010, Miller ran for the Senate against Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK). He won the Republican nomination, backed by the Tea Party and Sarah Palin, however Lisa Murkowski waged a write-in campaign against him. Murkowski ended up getting re-elected. The events in 2010 worry some Republicans because they think he could turn off some Republicans and fire up Democrats. The form Miller filed, Federal Election Commission Form 2, must be filed when a candidate has received over $5,000.
