Elizabeth Warren Gets Democratic Nomination

Consumer advocate Elizabeth Warren is now the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts. By getting an overwhelming majority at the Democratic Massachusetts Convention, Elizabeth Warren has avoided a September primary. Her only Democratic opponent was lawyer Marisa DeFranco. Elizabeth Warren got 95.7% of the vote, the highest any candidate has gotten during the endorsement process. No Democrat has gotten above 86% and most expected Elizabeth Warren would not bypass it either. Ms. DeFranco has lost her chance to take on Elizabeth Warren, and Warren and her supporters said if that happened it would be damaging to the eventual Senate candidate. Warren says she is ready to take on Senator Scott Brown.
