In an interview with ABC News, President Obama says he now supports same-sex marriage. This move comes after a controversy surrounding Vice President Biden. Vice President Biden appeared on Meet the Press and said he was “comfortable” with gay marriage. The White House immediately went on the defense saying that was not the President’s position. However, Education Secretary Arne Duncan appeared on television and said he was also comfortable with gay marriage. As President Obama highlighted what he did for the LGBT community, he refused to accept gay marriage. President Obama’s remarks came a day after North Carolina voters overwhelmingly supported an amendment to the state constitution that defined marriage between a man and a woman. As President Obama said during the interview, it’s left up to the states.
