Romney Has Not Changed His Mind on Akin

In an interview with MSNBC, Romney advisor Kevin Madden said that Mitt Romney has not changed his opinion on Todd Akin. Todd Akin caused a firestorm when he said that “legitimate rape” doesn’t cause pregnancy. Afterwards, almost all Republicans disavowed him, and called on him to drop out. However, when the deadline passed for Rep. Akin to leave, some Republicans have come back to him. However, Mitt Romney is not one of them. Sen. Rick Santorum, one of Mitt Romney’s opponents for the nomination, has endorsed Rep. Akin. Former Speaker Newt Gingrich, another one of Mitt Romney’s opponents, has also endorsed Rep. Akin, saying he is needed for the GOP to get the Senate.
