As a result of Tropical Storm Isaac, the Republican National Convention will convene on Monday and immediately recess until tomorrow afternoon. This changes the speaking schedule, as many important people are scheduled to speak on Monday. Ann Romney was scheduled to speak on Monday, but was moved to Tuesday. However, watchers of ABC, NBC, and CBS, won’t be missing much as the networks weren’t planning much of Monday’s activities. Monday was the day to kick-off the convention, with appearances by Speaker Boehner, Sen. Rand Paul, Governor Bob McDonnell. Florida has declared a state of emergency, and the Republican National Committee is in contact with the delegates. Party spokespeople have been assuring that there were contingency plans in order to make sure Governor Mitt Romney and Representative Paul Ryan become the nominees.
