Many times when there is a shooting, or any event that involves human deaths, the news cycle stops and pauses to focus on it. There were times during the primary season when Syria was given quite a bit of time. The deadly shooting in Colorado has paused the campaign. President Obama has expressed his condolences, cancelled campaign events, and will meet with victims and families of the victims on Sunday. Mitt Romney has also expressed his condolences. The Obama and Romney campaigns have paused political ads in Colorado, super pacs have as well.
