Representatives Send Letter to President Obama on Iran

20130718-210752.jpgThree hundred ninety-five members of the House of Representatives sent a letter to President Obama regarding sanctions on Iran. Two hundred sixteen Republicans and one hundred seventy-nine Democrats signed the letter and it says that Iran must commit to and fulfill all its agreements with the international community before any more sanctions are relaxed. The signers also urge the Administration to remember Iran’s state-sponsorship of terrorism and opposition to Israel, a key American ally. The Representatives say those concerns, among others, should remain a key part of the Administration’s larger Iran policy, in addition to the nuclear diplomacy.

The letter was spearheaded by Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R) and Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D).
