Michael Moore’s term on the Michigan Film Advisory Board will end at the end of September since he was not re-appointed by Republican Governor Rick Snyder. Snyder appointed a businessman from the Detroit-area and re-appointed another board member whose new terms will end in September of 2018.
Moore, who rose to fame with his liberal-leaning documentaries that often take on big business, was appointed by Democratic Governor Jennifer Granholm. One of Moore’s first films, Roger & Me, looked at the impact General Motors had on Flint, Michigan, when the automaker closed its factory.
