Governor Bob McDonnell’s (R-VA) spokesman hit back at rumors that the governor would resign as part of a plea deal. The spokesman used only three words, “It is false.” The plea deal regards a corruption scandal involving Gov. McDonnell, who was seen as a possible presidential or vice presidential contender. The rumors, however, were first published by the conservative site, Bearing Drift. The site said that the resignation was confirmed by several sources to the site.
