United Nations Upgrade Palestine

The United Nations today voted to upgrade Palestine. The country was a “non-member observer entity,” but it is now a “non-member observer state.” UN Ambassador Susan Rice said there will be nothing different for Palestinians, except achieving peace will be harder. One hundred thirty-eight delegates voted for the upgrade, while nine voted against it. The United States and Israel both voted against the measure.
