Benjamin Netanyahu Backtracks on Palestine Stance

Following his victory in the Israeli elections, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu went back on his earlier, forceful stance against a Palestinian state. Earlier this week, Netanyahu came out against a two-state solution in an attempt to appeal to right-wing voters.

Prime Minister Netanyahu said, “I don’t want a one-state solution; I want a sustainable, peaceful two-state solution, but for that, circumstances have to change. I was talking about what is achievable and what is not achievable. We have to have real negotiations with people who are committed to peace.”
He said this in an interview he gave to NBC News’s Andrea Mitchell.
