SiriusXM announced on Tuesday that Breitbart News is expanding its offerings on their Patriot channel. The Patriot channel is dedicated to conservative talk and Breitbart is debuting new weekday and weekend programming.
SiriusXM and Breitbart also announced that Steve Bannon, the former chief strategist to President Donald Trump who is now executive chairman of Breitbart News, will be a regular host on the network’s Breitbart News Daily alongside Breitbart editor-in-chief Alex Marlow beginning today. Bannon previously co-hosted that program before joining the Trump campaign.
The channel also debuted Breitbart News Tonight, a three hour nightly news program with editors Joel Pollak and Rebecca Mansour, on Monday.
The network is also planning new weekend programming to debut in 2018. The channel already boasts Breitbart News Saturday and Breitbart News Sunday. SiriusXM says the programming will be built around Dr. Sebastian Gorka, a former Deputy Assistant to President Donald J. Trump; Breitbart contributor Sonnie Johnson; Breitbart Washington editor Matt Boyle; Breitbart national security editor Frances Martel; and Breitbart Texas editor Brandon Darby.
“As I have said all along, everything I brought to the Trump campaign came directly from the listeners I spoke with every morning on Breitbart News Daily on SiriusXM’s Patriot channel,” Bannon said in a statement.
“From the moment I left the White House, getting back behind the microphone was very important to me. To get on the road outside the Beltway and to spend time with the great men and women of America is an honor.”
“During the 2016 campaign, Steve empowered SiriusXM Patriot listeners to have a voice and be part of the electoral process,” SiriusXM’s general manager of talk programming Dave Gorab said in a statement.
“The result was a lasting bond between Steve and his audience, who have eagerly anticipated and awaited his return to radio.”
