MSNBC Cancels Hugh Hewitt’s Weekend Show 1

On Saturday morning, Hugh Hewitt aired a Best Of compilation on his eponymous MSNBC weekend show. At the end of it, however, he announced that it would be his last episode as MSNBC had cancelled the program.

However, Hewitt will remain with the cable news channel as a contributor. Hewitt said he will also continue to conduct interviews for MSNBC and appear on NBC’s Meet the Press.

Hewitt’s program struggled in the ratings against Fox & Friends Weekend and CNN’s New Day Weekend. He also landed in hot water due to his relationship with Environmental Protection Agency administrator Scott Pruitt and led to him not discussing the EPA on his program.

MSNBC did not respond to a request for comment by press time.
