PBS, HBO, CBS, and CNN Dominate News & Doc Emmys


Red Bull TV is now an News & Documentary Emmy Award winner. The News & Documentary Emmys were held on Monday night and the clear winners were PBS, HBO, CBS, and CNN. PBS won seven awards while HBO, CNN and CNN International combined, and CBS each won six.

Vice News Tonight’s coverage of the Charlottesville riots won Outstanding Coverage of a Breaking News Story in a Newscast while CNN International won Outstanding Continuing Coverage of a News Story in a Newscast for its coverage of the fall of ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

CNN International won Outstanding Hard News Feature Story in a Newscast for its coverage in Syria and CBS This Morning won Outstanding Investigative Report in a Newscast for its report on sexual assault in the Air Force Academy.

PBS had forty-five nominations, CBS thirty-one, HBO twenty-two, and CNN twenty-two. CNN International won all three of the awards it was nominated for.
