This morning, Piers Morgan broke the news that he has officially left CNN. While Morgan has been off the air for a few months, his contract expired yesterday. When Morgan’s show ended, there were reports that he would stay at CNN and do interview specials, possibly on a weekly basis. As his show was ending, Morgan complained how his show was supposed to be about interviews, not missing planes and severe weather. On Twitter today, Morgan said that CNN Worldwide President Jeff Zucker offered a two-year deal of 40 interviews. It is unclear whether that would be 40 per year or total. However, Morgan declined the offer, wanting to move on. He then expressed his gratitude for Zucker and the entire company for his four “fantastic” years.
