FCC Chair OK with Oritz Cursing on TV

Yesterday, the Red Sox were playing in their hometown on Boston. The game was especially important as it was the first home game since the Boston Marathon bombings. As part of the celebrations, Red Sox player David Ortiz, affectionately known as Big Papi, took to the microphone to address the massive crowds before the game. Part of his remarks include cursing, specifically the f bomb. He said, “This is our [expletive] city.” One might wonder what the problem is, but the game was being broadcast on TV. However, the FCC has decided not to fine the player, and apparently the decision came from the top. The FCC sent out this tweet and the “-Julius” signals that the tweet comes from FCC chairman Julius Genachowski.
