The two Democratic candidates for the Massachusetts Senate special election have both suspended their campaigns. Rep. Ed Markey announced he would be suspending his campaign, then four minutes later, Stephen Lynch announced he would do so, too. So far, none of the Republican candidates have publicly said they are suspending their campaigns. However, Mike Sullivan has announced that he is canceling the remainder of today’s events. Gabriel Gomez, who ran in the race, has tweeted a prayer in support of those injured.
