John McCain Responds to Obama’s Joke from the WHCD

whcdDuring last night’s White House Correspondents Dinner, President Obama made a joke of Senator John McCain (R-AZ) being a grumpy old man defending the White House from potential intruders. Part of this came from failures on the part of the Secret Service that have allowed several people to jump the fence and get onto the White House premises. In one case, an intruder was able to make inside the White House.

John McCain responded to President Obama’s joke at the White House’s Correspondents Dinner this morning on CNN’s State of the Union.

“I’m reporting for duty on Monday morning in my usual laid back, casual style, I’m telling you. I’ll get that Secret Service squared away,” he said. “I’m ready for the job.”

The joke was delivered in the form of a photoshopped picture of McCain with a broom on the White House lawn.

McCain, who was then-Senator Obama’s Republican opponent in the 2008 presidential election, is currently chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee. He was also a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War where he suffered many torture beatings.

The President also made the same comparison with Joe Biden. He said that the Vice President could be used to knock away drones with a baseball bat.
