On We The People, two petitions have gotten a response. The two petitions are about preserving 6 day delivery and just saving the post office. The response says that the Obama Administration does have a plan to ensure the viability of the Post Office. The plan includes a gradual transition to 5 day delivery, but then becomes 6 day delivery in the holiday season. The American Postal Service Union has been running ads to make sure nothing happens to the post office and redirects the blame to Congress. The plan by the Obama Administration says that it will lessen the burden by workers and customers and give a refund of the 6.9 billion surplus in postal contributions to the Federal Employees Retirement Program.
