During Wednesday’s GOP debate, former Governor Jeb Bush (R-FL) attacked Senator Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) poor attendance record for the Senate. Rubio had previously defended his record by saying a large portion of the job is constituent services, which do not require the Senator to be in the chamber. Bush countered by saying he, as a Florida taxpayer, elected Rubio to work and represent them. Bush also said that with the Senate’s schedule, Rubio could attend votes while still campaigning. However, Rubio came back with a sharp line that got at his former mentor while also appealing to party unity.
