Liz Cheney recently announced that she was going to primary Republican Sen. Mike Enzi in 2014. The move prompted many Republicans to pick sides, mostly Enzi’s. However, it seems that Republicans in Wyoming, too, are taking the Senator’s side. A new poll from Harper Polling for the website Conservative Intel shows the former vice president’s daughter trailing the third term Senator, 55% to 21%. Part of Cheney’s problem can be attributed to the fact that Enzi has approval and favorability ratings in the seventies. Cheney, on the other hand, is viewed favorably by 45% of the respondents and 38% don’t have an opinion. Working in Cheney’s favor, though, is that only 48% of Republicans in the state believe Enzi deserves re-election.
