Clock Ticking As Florida Approaches

Florida’s primary is less than a week away, and the candidates are being getting closer to what could be one their last primary. Newt Gingrich needs a strong debate performance as his momentum cools and possibly reverses. Mitt Romney seems to be make sure that Newt Gingrich doesn’t steal the show, as Newt Gingrich is within striking distance of Mitt Romney. Florida has a winner-take-all primary which means that the winner gets all the delegates. The winner-take-all situation raises the stakes for all candidates as they seek increasingly important delegates. If Newt Gingrich were to win, he would push over Mitt Romney as the leader in delegates. Florida is an important primary, aside from the fact of it being the fourth primary, because we have had three different primaries/caucuses and three different winners. Florida also can test whether or not Newt Gingrich has enough support to take on Mitt Romney. South Carolina was also next door to Georgia, where Newt Gingrich was a representative, the same thing happened in New Hampshire where Mitt Romney was governor of next-door Massachusetts.
