Hello, and welcome to the Daily Briefing for October 9, 2012. Now today our top stories are:

Big Bird Stars in a New Obama Ad.
However, Sesame Workshop Wants It Pulled.
Gallup’s Likely Voters Daily Poll Has Romney Ahead.

Now it’s time for our Short and Sweet Stories, our top stories condensed.

A new ad from the Obama campaign stars Big Bird. After Romney’s comment that he would fire Big Bird, the Obama campaign put out a sarcastic ad, thanking Romney for targeting Big Bird. The ad calls Big Bird the true villain of the Great Recession. The ad is running nationwide.

However, Sesame Workshop is not happy with the ad, reminding everybody that they are a nonpartisan group. The Workshop is calling on the campaign to pull the ad, worrying about the political impact on America’s favorite street. However, the campaign is saying they will review the ad.

Gallup has now started their likely voter daily polling, and it has Mitt Romney ahead by two points. The polling is still probably part of Mitt Romney’s debate bump. However, Mitt Romney is behind the President with registered voters by three points.
