Following his State of the Union, President Obama will be sitting down for an interview. However, his interview will not be with a journalist. Instead, Obama will sit down with three YouTube stars and speak about the issues they and their audiences care about. Obama will sit down with Bethany Mota, GloZell, and Hank Green.
At the daily White House press briefing, CNN’s Jim Acosta joked about the interview and said, “Just noticing that these folks who are going to be conducting these interviews are not professional journalists, they’re people who post videos on YouTube, and I’m just curious, was ‘Charlie Bit My Finger’ or ‘David After Dentist’ not available?” However, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said he is “not familiar” with the two videos, which are among YouTube’s most popular.
