Olympian Carl Lewis is claiming that Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ) bullied him when he was going to run against an ally of Christie’s. The Olympian says that he was in talks to become the state’s fitness ambassador, but Christie ended discussions after Lewis announced a challenge to state Senator Dawn Addiego (R). Lewis has also said in an interview with The Star Ledger that he sees a “strong parallel” between this event and the George Washington Bridge controversy.
Lewis’s run was later derailed when a court found that he did not fit the residency requirement. He now resides in Houston, Texas.
