Are Democrats and Tea Party Members Agreeing On Something?

One of the most controversial bills in Congress is SOPA, or the Stop Online Piracy Act. What makes this bill controversial is how it is pitting Hollywood vs. Silicon Valley. Tech companies argue it will cripple the Internet and it violates free speech. The bill would allow sites that are using copyrighted works to be possibly shut down because of the infringement. Hollywood says that online piracy is sucking away their profits. Huge tech companies such as Google, Twitter, WordPress, and Linkedin are all coming out against SOPA. However on January 24th the Senate will take up the Protect IP Act, a sister act to SOPA. January 24th is the day the Senate comes back from winter recess. The bills could prove troublesome for President Obama because these bills put two major fundraising sources against each other. TKNN used to cover technology, and will be covering SOPA and PIPA.
