CBS News Announces State of the Union Coverage Plans

fourth estate newThe CBS This Morning anchors will be staying up late on Tuesday as they will be anchoring coverage of President Donald Trump’s first State of the Union alongside CBS Evening News anchor Jeff Glor. Norah O’Donnell, John Dickerson, and Gayle King will anchor from New York while Glor will anchor from the Capitol building.

Chief White House correspondent Major Garrett, chief congressional correspondent Nancy Cordes, White House and senior foreign affairs correspondent Margaret Brennan, justice and homeland security correspondent Jeff Pegues, national correspondent Chip Reid, and justice reporter Paula Reid will contribute reporting to the special. Following the speech, elections and surveys director Anthony Salvanto will look at the public’s reaction to the speech.

The coverage will air on all CBS News platforms, including CBSN and the broadcast network.

CBS News will also have coverage during its regularly scheduled programming. CBS Evening News will air live from the Capitol while CBSN anchor Elaine Quijano and CBS This Morning: Saturday co-host Alex Wagner will anchor CBSN’s special coverage from New York beginning at 5:00 PM ET with reporting from CBS News’s political reporters and contributors.
