This morning, the nominees for the News and Documentary Emmy Awards were announced. PBS led the pack with 43 nominations while CBS was close behind with 42. All three broadcast networks got nominations, while only CNN and Al Jazeera America got nominations out of the cable news networks. CNN got nine nominations while AJAM got two. Among the other nominees were Ora.TV, which produces Larry King Now, and BBC World News. Of the 43 nominations CBS received, 27 were for the weekly magazine show, 60 Minutes. Also, the since-cancelled Rock Center with Brian Williams got three nominations. Of CNN’s eleven nominations, two were for CNN en Español and three were documentaries released under the CNN Films banner.
