Democrat’s Revenge For 2000 Election?

The latest Rasmussen poll shows Mitt Romney with a seven-point lead over President Obama. But at the same time, Karl Rove’s latest electoral map would have President Obama win re-election. Could this be… another 2000? In 2000’s presidential election, for those who do not remember, George W. Bush won with the electoral college, but with a minority of the popular vote. Now, Rasmussen’s polls are not typical, Gallup’s daily tracking poll actually has President Obama leading, but by one percentage point. In this election, polls have swung more than a teeter totter. In the end, two things matter: election night and the electoral college. The Huffington Post is considered liberal by many, but their electoral college forecasts are similar to Karl Rove’s, the revered Republican strategist. In this record-breaking electoral season, Republicans could have a problem. Ohio is listed as leaning-Obama. No Republican has ever won the Presidency without carrying Ohio. But, as we saw, streaks can be broken. Before Newt Gingrich, there was a long streak of South Carolina primary winners going on to be the nominee. Well, you can see how that turned out.
