Jason Chaffetz to Join Fox News as Contributor


Jason_Chaffetz,_official_portrait,_111th_CongressRepresentative Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), who will be resign from the House of Representatives on Friday, will join Fox News as a contributor. Chaffetz will begin Saturday and appear on Fox News and Fox Business Network to provide analysis.

Chaffetz is well-known to cable news viewers, especially on Fox News. He has been media-friendly throughout his tenure; he appeared in CNN’s Freshman Year online series of reports that focused on him and Representative Jared Polis as freshmen congressmen in 2009. He frequently appears on cable news as well.

It was expected that Chaffetz would join Fox News as the Washingtonian reported this in May.

Chaffetz has served as chair of the House Oversight Committee since late 2014. He announced in April of this year that he would not run for re-election in 2018 and then in May announced that he would step down before the end of his term. Representative Trey Gowdy has been elected to serve as the next chairman of the House Oversight Committee.
