Sen. Al Franken Blasts Comcast Acquisition

Sen. Al Franken (D-MN), in a rare national news appearance, blasted the proposed acquisition of Time Warner Cable by Comcast. Sen. Franken, who is running for re-election in 2014, appeared on CNN’s The Lead and told anchor Jake Tapper that the deal would lead to less competition and possibly, higher prices. If approved, the combined company would count roughly one-in-three Americans as a customer.
