Bill O’Reilly Declines Kremlin Apology

fourth estate newOn Monday, the Kremlin requested an apology from Fox News host Bill O’Reilly after the host called Russian President Vladimir Putin “a killer” during his Super Bowl interview with President Donald Trump.

“We consider such words from the Fox TV company to be unacceptable and insulting, and honestly speaking, we would prefer to get an apology from such a respected TV company,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on a conference call.

Fox News responded to the request by saying that O’Reilly would address the request on his nightly program.

“Apparently the Putin administration in Moscow is demanding that I, your humble correspondent, apologize for saying ol’ Vlad is a killer,” O’Reilly sat at the top of his show.

“So I am working on that apology, but it may take a little time. Check in with me in 2023.”

The Factor then played audio from the conference call before O’Reilly offered his final thoughts, “One footnote: If you want to know about the violent history of Vladimir Putin, you might want to check out the book iWar by Bill Gertz, a Washington Times reporter.”

Putin has long been accused of orchestrating the murders of political opponents. A British inquiry into the death of Alexander Litvinenko concluded in 2016 that President Putin “probably” directed the killing of the spy.
