PBS has announced Christiane Amanpour will host an expanded hourlong late night public affairs program for the public broadcaster. The deal, in collaboration with CNN, makes Amanpour’s PBS spot permanent and her the replacement to Charlie Rose. Following the cancellation of Rose’s talk show in the wake of sexual harassment allegations against the host, PBS filled the timeslot with Amanpour on PBS, a rebroadcast of Amanpour, and Beyond 100 Days, produced in conjunction with BBC.

The new show will also air on CNN International.

“I’m delighted to expand my role at PBS from interim to permanent along with this remarkable diversity of voices and views,” Amanpour said in a statement. “Never has the time for exploring our world and America’s place in it been so urgent.”

Amanpour also alluded to Rose, saying, “And I am also thrilled to be a female filling this role at this time!”

“For decades, a national audience has turned to PBS for smart conversations about the ideas of our time from diverse voices. That trusted tradition continues with Amanpour & Company,” said Neal Shapiro, WNET president and CEO.

PBS president and CEO Paula Kerger added, “Building on the enthusiastic response to Amanpour on PBS, Amanpour & Company will be a valuable addition to PBS’ nightly public affairs lineup and give viewers a better understanding of our world.”

Amanpour will continue to anchor the program from London while she will be joined by a regular set of contributors from New York. The Company part of Amanpour & Company is Walter Isaacson, Michel Martin, Alicia Menendez, and Hari Sreenivasan. Amanpour & Company will be a return to CNN for Isaacson as he served as the head of the news organization from 2001 to 2003.
