The White House has released its annual report of staff salaries. The report has been required since 1995 and the White House provides it to Congress and the general public. The report reveals that twenty-two staffers make the top salary of $179,700 a year. Among those making the top salary are Press Secretary Sean Spicer, Chief Of Staff Reince Priebus, Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, and Counselor Kellyanne Conway.
Three employees take no salary: Ivanka Trump, husband Jared Kushner, and Reed Cordish. Cordish serves as Assistant to The President for Intergovernmental and Technology Initiatives and works with Kushner in his Office of American Innovation. Trump’s position is listed as First Daughter and Advisor to the President.
There are eighteen staffers who work as detailees, or people from other governmental organizations temporarily serving in the White House. One detailee, Mark House, is listed as a Senior Policy Advisor and brings in $187,100, the top salary listed.
The report lists the Trump White House as having 377 staffers. The Obama White House, for comparison, listed 472 staffers in 2016 and 488 staffers in 2009.
