U.S. District Judge  David J. Hale of the Western District of Kentucky ruled in favor of protesters on Friday in a lawsuit  directed toward President Donald Trump. Trump is accused of promoting violence at a Louisville rally during his presidential campaign when he directed his supporters to “get [the protesters] out of [the rally].” Hale stated that since violence had occurred previously at another Trump rally and several hate groups were known to be in the audience, he could be held accountable for any violence inflicted upon an African-American woman he instructed to be removed from the crowd.

Henry Brousseau, Kashiya Nwanguma and Molly Shah allege they were assaulted by Trump supporters at the rally and are seeking unspecified compensation. The group claims that Trump “fosters an atmosphere of violence” at his rallies. Trump has stated at rallies that he would pay the legal bills of those who fought protesters, and has stated that anyone who disrupts his speeches should be “roughed up.” Video of Nwanguma getting kicked out of the rally can be seen, where she is seemingly violently handled by several different men.
