Lindsey Graham Announces Presidential Run

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has officially announced that he will run for the Presidency in 2016. He made the announcement on Monday, June 1st.

I’ve got one simple message,” he said. “I have more experience with our national security than any other candidate in this race. That includes you, Hillary.”

Graham made many points about defeating all of America’s challengers, which would possibly include putting troops back into Iraq.

The candidate began his speech with talk of radical Islamists “running wild”. He also talked about Iran’s nuclear program and the fear in the world due to it.

“I want to be President to defeat the enemies trying to kill us, not just penalize them or criticize them or contain them, but defeat them,” he conveyed.

Graham had also said that “the world is falling apart”, which is why he is planning to run for president. He has been quoted telling CNN he is “more right than wrong on foreign policy.” Graham is part of the interventionist, or hawk, wing of the Republican Party. This has made him an enemy of Senator Rand Paul, who advocates for isolationism. Some have said that Graham is running in order to make sure the party has a foreign policy debate.

Graham has become the 9th Republican to run for president. Those running are Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Ben Carson, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, Carly Fiorina, George Pataki, and now Graham.
Three Democrats are also running, Hillary Clinton, Martin O’Malley, and Bernie Sanders.
