According to Politico, Rep. Allen West has conceded his race to Democratic challenger Patrick Murphy. Rep. West had been fighting for a recount, alleging fraud. However, a recount of some votes put Rep. West further behind. The Republican freshman is known for his outspokenness. He made headlines when he called the members of the Progressive Caucus “communists.” Rep. West tried to spin his comments as him being a truth-teller. But, Patrick Murphy used the comments in a commercial, having children use the insults on the playground.
