According to a poll from the Democratic leaning-Public Policy Polling, only 50% of Republicans want him as their nominee. While 35% prefer a more conservative Senator.
Democrats and the Tea Party are seemingly teaming up. The two sides in Kentucky have found a common enemy in Mitch McConnell. Embracing the “Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend,” Democratic donors have said they will help a Tea Party candidate take down McConnell in a primary.
