Continuing its trend of having different programming for each day of the weekend, MSNBC announced a new slate of programs to air on Sunday evenings. Leading the new programming are Yasmin Vossoughian and Ayman Mohyeldin who will individually hosting MSNBC Live rolling news coverage at 4 PM and 5 PM, respectively. At 6 PM is a rebroadcast of that day’s Meet the Press and from 7 to 9 PM is Kasie DC, a new program featuring congressional correspondent Kasie Hunt.

Sunday nights on MSNBC are typically heavy on taped programming, particularly airings of NBC’s Dateline and reruns of Lockup. Primetime on weekends has become a popular time for original series as Fox News uses it for its interview series, OBJECTified, and was the home of Legends & Lies. CNN started the trend with its original series, like Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, on Sunday nights.

Vossoughian and Mohyeldin, who is also a foreign correspondent for NBC News, also co-host Morning Joe First Look, an early morning weekday program. A MSNBC spokesperson did not respond as to whether the two will remain hosts and queries to the two went unanswered.

MSNBC describes Hunt’s show as “interviewing newsmakers and previewing Monday’s key headlines to help viewers jump start the week ahead.”

I watched KASIE DC for the first time tonight and I noticed that she has an unfortunate habit of making a little “tisk” type sound at the end of many of her sentences. It’s the type of sound you make by putting the middle of your toungue on the roof of your mouth and adding a little suction. I like her a lot and want her show to do well but she needs to be made aware of this and STOP immediately. It’s annoying and unprofessional so I hope this or someone calls her attention to it. Best of luck, Kasie!
